About the Role
The Senior Market Risk Analyst will be responsible for managing market risk across Shell’s European power trading portfolio. This includes:
- Developing strong relationships with the trading business to support new deals and ensure adherence to risk limits.
- Utilizing expertise in European power markets to identify and manage risk.
- Collaborating with quantitative teams to enhance pricing, valuation, and risk models.
- Developing risk frameworks for complex power products.
- Providing market risk input on new business proposals.
- Leading the execution of key risk controls.
- Monitoring and reporting on portfolio performance.
- Developing tools and methodologies for risk assessment.
- Collaborating with other support functions.
- Mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications
- A degree in mathematics, economics, engineering, science, or a related field.
- Significant experience in power market risk with a strong understanding of market risk fundamentals and modeling concepts.
- Knowledge of non-linear products, tolling agreements, renewable power, and certificates.
- Strong business analysis, modelling, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
