Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) Office of Inspector General (OIG) is actively seeking experienced retired federal employees to join their team as auditors in Washington, D.C. This unique opportunity offers a PE-III position, equivalent to a high-level GS-15 pay grade, for qualified annuitants looking to return to public service.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting performance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards. This role offers a chance to contribute to government oversight and integrity within the GAO’s headquarters.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be a retired federal employee.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting performance audits under GAGAS at a level equivalent to at least a GS-14.
