Position at a Glance

Corbion is seeking a Senior R&D Technician – Food Ingredients to join its Product Development (PD) team at the Innovation Center in Gorinchem. This full-time, on-site position begins in January 2026, with interviews scheduled from October 2025.

The role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on professional with a strong background in food science or chemistry. The Senior Technician will contribute to the design, improvement, and innovation of food ingredient solutions, playing a vital role in extending product quality and shelf life.

Key Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Research & Technical Development

Lead and execute experimental projects, interpret results, and ensure technical accuracy in lab-based activities.

2. Food Innovation & Application Support

Work on the development and enhancement of food ingredients across diverse applications, supporting customer and business projects.

3. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

Collaborate closely with microbiologists, fermentation experts, powder technologists, and sustainability professionals.

4. Project Execution & Strategic Alignment

Serve as a technical lead or active team member in strategic and customer-driven projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

5. Expertise Growth & Knowledge Sharing

Expand technical expertise, contribute insights to the team, and support a culture of innovation within Corbion.

Candidate Profile

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Organic) Chemistry, Food Science, or Powder Technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years of laboratory experience in a non-routine setting
  • Strong skills in experimental design and project execution
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Business-oriented mindset with customer focus
  • Willingness to commute daily to Gorinchem, NL
