Role Purpose

Major Responsibilities

  • Drive research and development of novel AI models for speech and audio.
  • Build robust software for deployment on Samsung mobile devices.
  • Own major components of research projects from concept to production.
  • Write clean and well-documented code that follows best engineering practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional researchers and engineers.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

The engineer meets with researchers to review experiment results and align on model improvements. They refine code, train models, and validate performance on real mobile scenarios. Also, they join product and engineering syncs to prepare features for deployment, and their work pushes audio and speech features toward stable release.

Required Skills

  • MSc or PhD in AI, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • Strong Python development skills. Exposure to C++, Java, or Kotlin is a plus
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning and deep learning methods
  • Experience in speech recognition, speech enhancement, audio analysis, TTS, or NLP
  • Proficiency with TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices and Git workflows
  • Experience with CI and CD pipelines and agile teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to turn research concepts into production-ready solutions

Experience and Educational Background

Minimum MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline with professional experience in ML research and audio or speech systems. Publications are preferred, but experience with open source toolkits and cloud platforms strengthens the profile.
