Santander is seeking an experienced Associate/Assistant Vice President to manage a portfolio of commercial real estate multifamily workout loans. This fully remote position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $127,500 annually.

Job Overview:

The Associate, Workout will be responsible for managing a portfolio of primarily rent-stabilized and rent-controlled multifamily properties, predominantly located in and around the Greater New York City area. This role involves working with borrowers, structuring loan modifications, analyzing financial statements, and maximizing portfolio profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multifamily lending, loan documentation, and asset management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage defaulted multifamily commercial real estate loans.
  • Facilitate loan resolutions through modifications and borrower interaction.
  • Generate income through fees and other means.
  • Review risk ratings and loan accounting.
  • Develop system solutions for portfolio reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements and third-party reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required). Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of workout, portfolio management, or collections experience (required).
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily lending, underwriting, and asset management.
  • Familiarity with New York City multifamily market, particularly rent-controlled and rent-stabilized properties.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation and Benefits:
