Novartis, a global leader in reimagining medicine, is seeking a talented Research Scientist II – Radiochemist to join its dynamic team in Basel, Switzerland. This full-time, onsite role (80-100%) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of groundbreaking radioligand therapies (RLT) in the fight against cancer.

Located in the heart of Basel, a hub of pharmaceutical innovation, this position puts you at the forefront of medical discovery. You’ll be instrumental in synthesizing radioligands, utilizing cutting-edge techniques with radionuclides like Lu-177, Ga-68, and F-18. Your expertise will be crucial in advancing preclinical studies and shaping the future of oncology treatments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Independently plan and execute the synthesis of radioligands.
  • Develop and validate new radiolabeling procedures, including automation.
  • Perform quality control using HPLC, TLC, and SEC.
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety regulations.
  • Evaluate and implement novel technologies for increased efficiency.
  • Collaborate with pharmacologists and cell biologists.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or apprenticeship in chemistry, pharmacy, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of practical experience in radiochemistry, including working with radiometals.
  • Proficiency in standard IT applications (E-Notebook, ChemDraw).
  • Experience with automated synthesizers is a plus.
  • A passion for hands-on experimentation and a collaborative spirit.
