Position Summary
The Process Safety Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting Linde’s process safety initiatives in the Stockholm region. This position involves assessing risks, implementing safety measures, and promoting a culture of safety across operations. The role requires close collaboration with local teams, providing guidance, training, and expert advice to maintain compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Process Safety Leadership
- Lead the regional PHA/HAZOP program and conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety studies.
- Provide guidance, training, and advisory support to business and operational teams.
- Develop and implement safety procedures, protocols, and training programs.
Compliance and Audits
- Ensure compliance with EU regulations and industry standards, including the Seveso Directive.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify and resolve process safety issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process safety.
Documentation and Innovation
- Manage and maintain process safety documentation, including P&IDs, safety data sheets, and emergency response plans.
- Stay informed on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to enhance safety performance.
Required Candidate Profile
Educational Background
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Professional Experience
- Operational experience in chemical or process industries with strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles.
- Expertise in risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety compliance.
- Proven experience leading HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the Seveso Directive.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Professional certifications such as HAZOP Leader or Certified Auditor are advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and Swedish, or another Scandinavian/Baltic language.
