Role Overview
The Principal Wi Fi Engineering Architect Consultant serves as the Design Authority for complex, high-density wireless deployments across stadium and arena environments. As a senior member of the Venues and Stadiums team, this consultant leads architecture strategy for high-profile clients, including major sports brands, venue owners, and operators.
This role extends beyond traditional implementation. It encompasses the entire lifecycle of a deployment, from pre-sales engagement and solution design through delivery governance to optimization and event support. The consultant owns the design and ensures that execution aligns precisely with defined standards and performance expectations.
The position reports to the Global Head of Wi-Fi Engineering and operates primarily remotely, with periodic on-site engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Consulting and Client Advisory
The consultant establishes technical credibility during customer engagements and sales discussions. By translating complex wireless concepts into clear business value, the architect supports decision-making and strengthens trusted advisor relationships.
Pre-Sales Engagement and Solution Architecture
The role involves defining technical requirements, estimating effort, and contributing to proposal responses. Through a deep understanding of wireless mobility technologies, the architect shapes robust architectural frameworks that align with client objectives.
Discovery and Advanced Assessment
The consultant conducts comprehensive site surveys using advanced tools, including drones and immersive imaging solutions, to capture detailed environmental data. These insights directly inform predictive modelling and design precision.
Predictive Modelling and Design Development
Using specialized modelling platforms, the architect develops high-density wireless designs for stadium environments. This includes creating High-Level Designs during early project phases and developing detailed Low-Level Designs and delivery runbooks to guide implementation teams.
Design Governance and Quality Assurance
The consultant acts as the central technical liaison between customers, delivery partners, and construction teams. Responsibilities include RF design reviews, technical audits, and validation exercises to confirm strict adherence to specifications.
Upon project completion, the architect evaluates conformance with approved designs and verifies that partners execute in accordance with established standards.
Implementation Oversight and Technical Escalation
The role provides expert guidance on configuration standards, advanced troubleshooting, and technical escalations. The consultant supports WLAN implementation efforts while ensuring the integrity of the design remains intact.
Performance Optimization and Event Readiness
Following deployment, the architect analyzes RF performance data and implements targeted optimization strategies. During critical live events, the consultant monitors network health, resolves emerging issues, and ensures uninterrupted connectivity in high-demand environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate combines deep RF engineering expertise with strong advisory and communication capabilities. This individual demonstrates confidence when engaging executive stakeholders while maintaining rigorous technical standards throughout delivery.
