Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and modern Node.js frameworks
- Develop scalable APIs and data systems that support high-performance applications
- Lead system design initiatives, including architecture, data modeling, and service scalability
Technical Leadership
- Set engineering standards and best practices across backend systems
- Make architectural decisions balancing performance, reliability, and speed of delivery
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and hands-on guidance
System Optimization & Reliability
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and system risks
- Improve observability, error handling, and operational efficiency
- Support incident response and ensure system resilience
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams
- Contribute to delivering scalable and reliable product features
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements / Skills
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong backend focus
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and Node.js development
- Strong experience in API design (REST, GraphQL, or similar)
- Knowledge of databases, data modeling, and distributed systems
- Experience with cloud-based systems and production environments
- Proven ability to lead technical decisions in complex environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or patient-focused technology platforms
- Familiarity with distributed teams and remote collaboration
- Understanding of large-scale, mission-critical system design
