About the Role: Leading Financial Strategy & Integrity

Are you a strategic financial leader with a mastery of accounting principles and a track record of ensuring fiscal integrity? WorkinVirtual is conducting a search for a Financial Controller on behalf of a rapidly scaling international organization. This is a high-visibility, remote executive role where you will be the cornerstone of all financial operations.

You will own the entire accounting cycle, from transactional accuracy to high-level financial strategy. Your expertise in GAAP compliance, financial modeling, and ERP systems will be critical in guiding the company through its next phase of growth, providing the data-driven insights necessary for strategic decision-making at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities: Stewardship, Compliance, and Strategy

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) in strict accordance with GAAP/IFRS. Deliver insightful financial analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership.

• Accounting Operations & Compliance: Manage the entire general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. Ensure robust internal controls are in place and lead the annual external audit process.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and periodic financial forecasting processes. Develop sophisticated financial models to project revenue, manage expenses, and assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives.

• ERP & Systems Management: Take ownership of the company’s ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online Advanced, Sage Intacct), driving process automation, optimizing reporting capabilities, and ensuring data security.

• Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage cash flow forecasting, optimize working capital, and oversee treasury operations to ensure liquidity and financial stability.

• Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of all corporate tax returns and maintain compliance with all statutory financial regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.

• A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is mandatory.

• Deep, hands-on experience with a major ERP system implementation and management.

• Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proven experience in developing financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a distributed, remote accounting team.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master’s degree is a plus.
