About the Role
As part of Nokia’s Mobile Networks division within the Space and Defense Unit, the Field Service Representative will serve as the technical bridge between Nokia’s cutting-edge products and mission-critical defense operations. The individual will collaborate closely with regional sales and account management teams to support pre-sales activities, field demonstrations, training programs, and proof-of-concept developments.

Core Responsibilities
The Field Service Representative will play a pivotal role in advancing Nokia’s defense communications initiatives through the following key areas:
- Technical Demonstrations & Field Engagements
Lead pre-sales activities, technical presentations, and customer workshops, both on-site and remotely.
Execute field trials and PoC developments that highlight Nokia’s 4G/LTE and 5G solutions. - Defense Customer Collaboration
Partner with defense clients to understand mission requirements and customize Nokia’s solutions for their operational environments. - Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with product management, R&D, and sales teams to ensure smooth solution integration and gather customer insights for continuous improvement. - Compliance & Security
Adhere to defense sector security regulations and act as a trusted technical advisor to clients. - Training & Knowledge Sharing
Conduct specialized training sessions to enable defense partners to leverage Nokia technologies effectively.
Candidate Profile
This position is ideal for candidates with a strong defense or military background and technical expertise in secure communications networks. The successful candidate will possess a mix of technical acumen, field experience, and customer-facing skills.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of secure networks, RF engineering, 4G/LTE, 5G, or satellite communications.
- Proven experience in conducting PoC demonstrations within live or simulated defense environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to serve as the primary local contact for technical queries.
- German nationality (due to client security requirements).
- Eligibility for Secret-level security clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Prior or current active military service.
- Experience engaging with defense ministries, contractors, or allied organizations.
Work Environment & Travel
This hybrid role will be based in Munich or Ulm, with moderate to high travel requirements, including international engagements, depending on customer needs. Occasional cross-country support within the market unit may also be required.
