The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their Medical Asset Support Team (MAST). This is a non-supervisory, remote position that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of detainees in ICE facilities across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical nursing support to nursing staff and detainees.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
  • Travel to various IHSC facilities to provide direct patient care (at least 50% travel required).

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer or USPHS Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidate.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional clinical nursing experience, with experience in correctional healthcare preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
