We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who is tired of the agile grind and ready for true product ownership. This isn’t just another coding job; you will be the primary architect and builder, taking features from the initial client conversation all the way to production deployment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end development of new features and products within the TribeSocial ecosystem.

  • Architect, build, and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and MySQL.

  • Develop responsive, performant, and elegant user interfaces with React.js and TailwindCSS.

  • Collaborate with a product lead to shape projects, define technical boundaries, and de-risk complex problems before coding begins.

  • Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your workflow and focus on high-value engineering.

  • Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through our CI/CD pipeline (CircleCI).

  • Backend: Node.js, MySQL

  • Frontend: React.js, TailwindCSS

  • Mobile: Flutter (via FlutterFlow)

  • Databases: MySQL (Core App), Firebase (Mobile)

  • CI/CD & DevOps: CircleCI

  • Media Processing: LivePeer

We have replaced traditional Agile/Scrum with Shape Up, the product development framework from 37 Signals. This means:

  • Fixed-Time, Variable Scope: We work in focused, monthly cycles. You’ll know the problem space and the deadline, and you have the autonomy to decide the “how.”

  • Shaped Work: Projects are meticulously shaped before they reach you. No vague tickets or endless backlog grooming. You get a concrete, well-defined problem to solve.

  • Team of One: You own the project. No daily standups, no micromanagement. You have the freedom and responsibility to execute.

  • Pair Project Management: You partner closely with a project lead, combining your technical expertise with their product vision for a powerful collaboration.

  • Async-First Culture: We default to written and video updates (using Loom) for clear, efficient communication. Synchronous meetings are reserved for untangling complex problems and collaborative coding sessions.

Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack JavaScript development.

  • You have a proven track record with Node.js and React.js in a production environment.

  • You are fluent in SQL and have experience designing and interacting with relational databases.

  • You have prior experience with, or a strong desire to work within, the Shape Up methodology.

  • You are a self-starter who excels in an autonomous environment and can drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.

  • You are an excellent written and verbal communicator. (This is non-negotiable for our async culture).

  • Bonus points for experience with: Flutter/FlutterFlow, TailwindCSS, CircleCI, LivePeer, or Firebase.
