The Opportunity: Mid-Level MuleSoft Developer / Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Mid-Level MuleSoft Developer to support enterprise integrations across complex, cloud-based ecosystems for federal and commercial clients. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain secure API-led integrations across enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud systems, and external partner systems.

You will play a critical role in enabling seamless data exchange, workflow automation, and system interoperability within scalable multi-system architectures. Your work will directly support mission-critical operations in security-conscious and regulated environments.

This role requires a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain a security clearance, and occasional travel to Washington, DC for in-person collaboration.


What You’ll Own

API & Integration Development

  • Design and develop APIs and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

  • Implement API-led connectivity patterns (System APIs, Process APIs, Experience APIs).

  • Develop, test, and deploy Mule applications and DataWeave transformations.

  • Integrate cloud-based SaaS platforms and enterprise systems (Salesforce, AWS, Azure, etc.).

Security & Authentication

  • Implement and support secure authentication mechanisms including OAuth, SAML, JWT, and others.

  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards and agency-specific requirements.

Performance & Reliability

  • Monitor and optimize integration performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across complex distributed systems.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation and integration design artifacts.

  • Apply change management and configuration control best practices.

  • Document integration patterns, data mappings, and operational procedures.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with cloud, data, and application teams to ensure end-to-end integration success.

  • Partner with federal clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.


What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, integration development, or operations.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure or enterprise integrations.

MuleSoft & API Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (design, development, deployment).

  • Strong understanding of API development and RESTful services.

  • Proficiency in DataWeave for data transformations.

  • Experience integrating cloud SaaS platforms and enterprise systems.

  • Understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization best practices (OAuth, SAML, JWT).

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control for integration deployments (Git, Jenkins, etc.).

Documentation & Architecture

  • Experience developing and maintaining architecture documentation and system design artifacts.

Eligibility & Travel

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be eligible for and capable of obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance.

  • Must be currently residing in the United States.

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to Washington, DC for in-person meetings.


Preferred Qualifications (Standout Candidates)

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD – Level 1 or higher) .

  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) .

  • Experience supporting integrations in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.

  • Experience in security-conscious or regulated environments (federal, defense, healthcare, finance).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce integrations (a plus, given Agility’s Salesforce Summit partnership).
