We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering also known as Director of Solution Consulting to support the entire SugarCRM Sales organization. You love being a customer facing hands on technologist and are passionate about supporting continuous growth across SugarCRM

The Opportunity

Using extensive market based knowledge about CRM and CX business applications combined with an in depth understanding of SugarCRM’s software platform architecture and capabilities you will be responsible for determining customer business objectives leading discovery processes scoping and presenting the product vision. You will take ownership of the solution and technical aspects of the sales cycle and demonstrate how SugarCRM functionality can leverage positive business outcomes

In this role you are the resident SugarCRM expert for both our internal and extended sales teams including resellers and partners. This is a hands on role requiring very strong customer interaction skills presentation skills and an excellent understanding of enterprise software solutions

What You’ll Do

  • Support and enable both Direct and Sugar reseller channel partners to be knowledgeable and capable in the SugarCRM application and platform

  • Lead the pre sale aspects of the sales cycle including initial discovery requirements analysis high level solution design and transition to implementation and delivery services teams

  • Effectively communicate often through demonstration SugarCRM’s value as a solution to prospective customers

  • Participate as a member of RFP and Tender response teams by creating product technical architecture proposed application solution and delivery methodology sections

  • Provide product application support to SugarCRM inside channel and direct sales teams

  • Act as a strategist for the SugarCRM application platform identifying functional capabilities aligned with customer business objectives

  • Promote the understanding of general CRM best practices and advocate for SugarCRM’s extensibility

  • Provide expertise to identify and translate business requirements into a business platform vision

  • Speak at trade conferences

  • Support product marketing and promotion inside and outside the organization

  • Develop and maintain assigned partner relationships

  • Assist Marketing and Sales with maintenance of current sales support materials tools including demonstration tool kits and selling documents

  • Working with the SugarCRM Training department support sales and demo training for selected business partners

Who You Are

  • You have 7 plus years experience in pre sales or similar role

  • You have SaaS solution sales and configuration experience with a general understanding of technical systems architecture stacks and platforms

  • You have a proven track record of successful pre sales engagements and interactions with C level customer executives

  • You have good knowledge of enterprise business applications

  • You are familiar with RFP and Tender best practices

  • You have strong communications skills both verbal and written with exceptional listening presentation and demonstration skills including good objection handling

  • You possess a strong sense of teamwork integrity excellent self motivation and a positive attitude

  • You have outstanding planning and time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • You can work with local and remote teams across different time zones

  • You are willing to travel up to 25 percent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 plus years Customer Relationship Management experience

  • Marketing Automation experience

  • Business Analytics exposure

  • BS or BA in relevant area
