JSW Steel is hiring a Section Head-QC to join their team in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management and experience in the steel industry.
Responsibilities:
- Support the establishment of inspection and testing facilities for alloy steels.
- Reduce external rejection in steel products to less than 1.50%.
- Reduce customer complaints in steel products to less than 0.9% of dispatch.
- Support the Quality System Certification (IATF-16949).
- Support New Product Quality Development (two new products).
- Support Product Approvals (BIS, PGCIL, IBR-1950, RDSO).
- Implement 5S&TPM (1S, 2S & 3S: UTM model machines to Step 3).
- Timely release test results and share with concerned operational departments.
- Ensure successful day-to-day activities and achieve targets.
- Ensure optimum inventory of consumables and critical spare parts.
- Feedback quality to production departments and continuously interact for process improvements and to meet stringent customer requirements.
- Ensure safety training/observations/protocols under the Du Pont safety system are fully followed and close safety observations.
- Monitor and ensure superior safety and housekeeping practices are followed at the workplace by adopting 5S practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality management in the steel industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
