Awesome Motive, a leading WordPress platform company, is seeking a talented and passionate Senior WordPress Developer to join our fully remote team. As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in building and scaling our platform, impacting millions of users. This role offers the opportunity to own features from conception to completion, working on everything from bug fixes and enhancements to large-scale feature development and rewrites.
Responsibilities:
- Triage and resolve bugs and implement small enhancements.
- Scope, develop, and test new product features and add-ons.
- Refactor existing code while maintaining backward compatibility.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Communicate effectively with the team via chat, audio, and video.
- Collaborate with other developers and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Handle both front-end and back-end development tasks.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in WordPress plugin development, architecture, and best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP concepts (OOP, autoloading, namespaces, traits, interfaces).
- Strong JavaScript skills (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6+).
- Experience with build tools like Gulp and Webpack.
- Familiarity with package managers (Composer, NPM).
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, Drip, Zapier).
- Proficient in Git and GitHub.
- Ability to rapidly iterate and deliver high-quality code.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Focus on simplicity and maintainability of code.
- Prior experience working remotely or as a freelancer.
- Personal computer with reliable internet access.
- Availability for audio/video meetings between 9 am and 5 pm EST.
Bonus Points:
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js or React.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and APIs (Easy Digital Downloads, WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal).
- DevOps or infrastructure management experience.
