Maharishi Foundation International (MFI), a US-registered non-profit supporting the Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) organization, seeks a passionate and experienced Senior React Native Mobile Engineer to join our growing, fully remote team. We’re looking for someone who wants to use their skills to create beautiful, intuitive user interfaces and contribute to an app that positively impacts lives globally.
About the Role:
As a key member of our mobile team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and evolution of our existing meditation and lifestyle app. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to plan, scope, and develop new features, ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness. This is a high-impact role where your contributions will directly shape the future of our app and organization.
Our Tech Stack:
- Frontend: React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Animated, Reanimated
- Backend: AWS Serverless (AppSync/GraphQL, DynamoDB, Cognito, Lambda)
- DevOps: Serverless Framework, CircleCI, Bitrise, Fastlane, Git
Experience with any of these technologies is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Own front-end development, maintenance, testing, and release of new features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications and develop new features.
- Provide mobile development best practices and guidance to the team.
- Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues.
- Maintain high code quality, organization, and automated processes.
- Ensure a robust testing strategy (unit, integration, and automated).
Skills & Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience testing and deploying code in a production environment.
- Proven experience in native mobile development (Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, Java).
- Strong expertise in React and React Native.
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
- Proficient with Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD (Bitrise preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and experience implementing designs with animations.
- Understanding of React Native limitations and native mobile environments.
- Knowledge of code signing for iOS and Android (Fastlane).
- Understanding of mobile app best practices (Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines).
- Experience with global non-profits, remote teams, or multinational organizations is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
We offer competitive compensation based on a formula that combines above-median market rates (55th percentile of New York market, based on Payscale) adjusted for your local cost of living (Numbeo). We are committed to equitable pay for all employees working 80% or more of full-time hours.
