CrowdStrike – a global leader in cybersecurity – is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Cloud Channel File Systems team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical component of CrowdStrike’s industry-leading cloud-native platform. Our Channel File Systems technology enables dynamic configurations on threat-detection sensors in customer environments, ensuring rapid and secure delivery of critical security information.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our distributed services and APIs.
- Develop and maintain robust testing frameworks and tools to automate testing processes.
- Review technical design documents and requirements to identify potential areas for improvement and ensure testability.
- Increase and improve automated test coverage across all levels of the system.
- Contribute to existing tools and frameworks, while also exploring and implementing new open-source solutions.
- Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and potential points of failure.
- Play a key role in root cause analysis of production outages and implement preventative measures.
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years of combined experience as an SDET and/or Backend Developer with a strong focus on distributed systems and APIs.
- Proven experience building testing frameworks and tooling for cloud-based SaaS products.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including knowledge of programming styles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Go, Python, Scala, Java, C++, JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, distributed systems architectures, and web services (JSON, REST, RPC, XML).
- Experience with various data storage technologies, including RDBMS, NoSQL, and caching solutions like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Exceptional debugging skills and the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in distributed systems.
- Experience with application, OS, web browser, or hardware compatibility testing.
- A strong understanding of computer and network security principles.
- A passion for breaking software and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with open-source contributions and project leadership.
- Familiarity with Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
