ForceMetrics, a mission-driven company transforming data for social change, seeks a highly motivated Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge data search and analytics platform. This platform empowers public safety and government agencies to leverage data for improved decision-making and positive community impact. As an early member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping engineering practices, influencing technology decisions, and establishing your own areas of expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop dynamic web applications using React (Next.js) and Python (Django).
- Design and build intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure product stability and reliability.
- Write scalable and maintainable code for a secure, multi-tenant SaaS environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, task breakdown, and goal setting.
- Develop deep expertise in the ForceMetrics platform and its application to real-world public safety challenges.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of advanced Elasticsearch experience, including building complex search queries and aggregations.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and Python, with experience in frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
- Experience with CSS frameworks such as Tailwind, Bootstrap, or Material Design.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute effectively within a team.
- Growth-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Proactive problem-solver with a proven ability to take initiative and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Citizenship (or Green Card) and ability to pass an FBI background check (required due to sensitive data).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in early-stage tech startups.
- Passion for making a positive impact on communities.
- Familiarity with law enforcement, public safety, or similar data systems.
- Computer Science or Engineering degree from a 4-year accredited university.
- Experience with object-oriented design and software design patterns.
- Backend experience with Django, Flask, CherryPy, Spring, or Spring Boot.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, Microsoft SQL).
- Mobile application development experience (iOS, Android, React Native).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD.
- Prior experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
