Elevate Data Quality with Soda Data: Senior Data Engineer (Python) – Remote (Europe)
Join Soda Data, a rapidly growing, venture-backed company at the forefront of data observability and testing. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer (Python) to contribute to the development and enhancement of our open-source (Soda Core) and cloud-based (Soda Cloud) products.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data quality by:
- Collaborating with senior product leadership, including the CTO, and a talented team of engineers to drive the implementation of key features in Soda Core and Soda Cloud.
- Owning the end-to-end development of critical components for our Data Observability and Data Testing offerings.
- Leveraging your deep expertise in data engineering to mentor and guide fellow team members.
- Contributing to the scalability of Soda Cloud to handle massive datasets.
- Actively participating in the open-source community by designing, implementing, and maintaining new features in Soda Core.
- Implementing internal tools to improve product development workflows.

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in building data/ML products or cloud software.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong understanding of the Python data stack.
- Deep knowledge of software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles and design patterns.
- Comprehensive understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, pipeline testing, data mesh, and related data engineering concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive, independent, and comfortable proposing innovative solutions.
- Must be based in Europe and able to work within European timezones.
- Strong interest in data quality, data observability, and machine learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with data quality solutions or tools for data engineers.
- Familiarity with common data warehousing platforms.
- Knowledge of the Python data science stack, including Scikit-learn.
- Experience with GitOps.
- STEM degree from a top tier university.
