Role Overview:
Bellroy is seeking a skilled and passionate Product Development Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on the engineering and refinement of our wallets, pouches, and tech accessories, transforming design concepts into tangible, production-ready products. As a key member of our product development team, you will utilize your hands-on expertise in 3D CAD, prototyping, and testing to ensure designs are both practical and faithful to their original intent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Design team to refine and engineer new product concepts.
- Develop and execute prototyping and testing plans, including 3D printing and physical testing.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Work closely with overseas manufacturers to ensure production feasibility and quality.
- Integrate customer feedback and data to drive product improvements and iterations.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly.
- Improve and create SOPs for packaging and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct research on new materials and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in product development or design engineering, with a focus on technical and manufacturing challenges.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Strong prototyping and testing skills.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and technical software.
- Excellent project management and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Bonus: Mandarin fluency.
- Experience with molded goods.

Location and Hours:
- Full-time position, with the possibility of being a remote optional role.
- Occasional international travel may be required.
