We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and developing our cloud-based infrastructure. This role will focus on managing PPC (Power Plant Controller) updates, reporting, and data storage, ensuring seamless integration with our Farsight™ analytics platform.

Role Overview:

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will lead the development of robust and scalable cloud systems that support our mission of driving the renewable energy revolution. You will be responsible for architecting data pipelines, ensuring reliable communication with in-plant systems, and optimizing system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure for PPC status reporting, updates, and onboarding.
  • Architect and develop real-time and historical data pipelines from the PPC to the Farsight™ system using MQTT.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of all cloud components.
  • Collaborate closely with the in-plant technical lead to optimize data exchange and system performance.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and services for system management and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to deliver results efficiently.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud-based software development.
  • Expertise in MQTT and real-time data pipelines, with familiarity in renewable energy systems.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with database systems for historical data (Timescale, Clickhouse).
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with cross-functional, remote teams.
  • Availability to work within or have a 4-hour overlap with the CET time zone.
  • Eligibility to obtain travel visa to Italy within 3 months of hiring.
