We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Technician to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical support to our users, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of computer systems and networks, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote desktop.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS), applications, and peripherals.
- Assist users with software installations, configurations, and updates.
- Support mobile devices (iOS, Android) and related applications.
- Network Administration:
- Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and LAN/WAN.
- Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory or similar systems.
- Assist with network security tasks, such as firewall management and virus protection.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on computer hardware and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications.
- Manage and maintain inventory of IT equipment.
- Perform regular system backups and data recovery.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document all support activities and resolutions in a ticketing system.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Generate reports on IT support performance and issues.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
- Prioritize and manage multiple support requests effectively.
- Follow IT related policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in an IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and administration.
- Familiarity with remote desktop support tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A+ certification, Network+ certification, or similar certifications are a plus.
