Jizan, Saudi Arabia – A significant opportunity has arisen for experienced Metallurgical or Chemical Engineers at the Advanced Smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), a joint venture between the National Industrialization Company (Tasnee) and a key player in the Saudi industrial sector. ASIC, located in Jizan Economic City, is seeking an Engineer II, Process Technology to bolster its operations in the production of Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron.
This role, reporting directly to the Superintendent, Process Technology, offers a dynamic environment within a state-of-the-art facility equipped with two Electric Arc furnaces, each capable of producing 250kt of slag and 125kt of pig iron annually. The produced slag is pivotal in the creation of Titanium pigment, a crucial component in paints and plastics.
What You’ll Do:
The Engineer II will be instrumental in providing daily technical and operational support, ensuring the Jizan Slagger process operates efficiently and within prescribed parameters. Responsibilities include:
- Operational Monitoring: Tracking production and process performance, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Process Optimization: Developing and implementing technical solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Conducting plant and process health assessments, HAZOP studies, and championing Process Safety.
- Problem Solving: Investigating quality non-conformance and implementing corrective actions.
- Project Management: Evaluating and implementing capital projects, conducting feasibility studies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Developing and maintaining operational reports, procedures, and technical documents.
- Metallurgical Accounting: Conducting production reconciliation and metallurgical accounting.
- Team Collaboration: Working with diverse teams, providing technical guidance, and fostering a safe work environment.
Who We’re Looking For:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering Degree.
- 5-10 years of operational experience in heavy industry (chemical, minerals processing, or pyrometallurgy).
- Strong knowledge of process safety, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
- Experience in production reconciliation, technical fault finding (RCA), and basic process engineering design.
- Proficiency in ISO standards and process/operating models.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a shift-based environment.
- Highly computer literate with strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
