During an approximate 24- to 36-month training period, they will handle essential tasks such as auditing vouchers and invoices, ensuring accurate coding, responding to inquiries from Senate staff and vendors, and managing cash advances.

Upon successfully meeting performance goals, the individual will be eligible for promotion to Accounts Payable Specialist II (Pay Band 7: $74,303 – $115,170). This advanced phase involves more complex financial reviews, processing diverse voucher types, training other staff members, handling payment disbursements (checks and ACH), and serving as a key contact for payment inquiries.

Who Should Apply?

Ideal candidates for the initial phase possess an associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred) and one to three years of accounts payable experience. Essential skills include:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems and principles.
