CoW DAO, a leading force in decentralized finance (DeFi), is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Web3 Accounting Manager to join our core team. We’re building critical infrastructure for the Ethereum ecosystem, including the second-largest DEX aggregator by monthly volume (CoW Protocol), a leading MEV blocker (MEV Blocker), and a unique AMM protecting LPs from LVR (CoW AMM). As a key member of our finance team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping these products and contributing to the broader DeFi landscape.
About the Role:
This is a fully remote, full-time contractor position. While we hire globally, this role has a preference for candidates based in Europe or within +/- 4 hours CEST. Please note that we are not currently hiring from the US, Australia, or New Zealand.
As our Web3 Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing outsourced accounting services, and coordinating with the Finance Lead on reporting and operations for CoW DAO and related entities. Your focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely reporting, supporting the operations team, and maintaining internal policies related to traditional and crypto accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, supported by external accountants.
- Facilitate the submission of annual financial statements.
- Review tax reporting for local teams (CIT, WHT, VAT returns).
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable (national and international payments, cash management).
- Maintain accurate accounts and balances, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Cooperate with tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
- Develop accounting policies for crypto transactions and manage digital asset accounting.
- Review blockchain transactions and support internal teams on crypto operations.
- Support the Finance Leadership in developing and implementing new operational structures (fund flows, multisigs, etc.) across various networks.
- Collaborate with external asset managers (Karpatkey) on CoW DAO treasury operations.
- Support the Finance Lead with planning, budgeting, and reporting (internal and external).
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably with crypto experience.
- Experience in one of the following accounting jurisdictions: UK, Cayman Islands, or BVI.
- Mandatory: Excellent Google Sheets skills.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and ability to adapt accounting knowledge to various GAAPs.
- Interest in blockchain technology and ideally hands-on crypto experience (familiarity with tools like Cryptio or Request Network is a plus).
- Experience working with tax authorities and external auditors/accounting firms.
- Excellent organizational, management, and proactive thinking skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver accurate work while multitasking and prioritizing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Experience in Web3 (ideally DeFi and Ethereum/EVM blockchain).
- Experience with multisigs (ideally Safe{wallet}) and nested setups.
