Birmingham, UK – HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations, is seeking a skilled and motivated Retention Product Owner to join their Technology team in Birmingham. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in the bank’s digital transformation by leading the adoption and operationalization of Microsoft 365 Purview.
The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in M365 Purview, guiding the technology team through a transition away from legacy systems. This will involve close collaboration with project teams, steering committees, and Microsoft itself to ensure a smooth and successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for M365 Purview within HSBC’s Technology organization.
- Lead the technology team through the transition to M365 Purview, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with project teams and steering committees to ensure successful implementation.
- Work closely with Microsoft to identify future roadmap features and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Drive understanding and buy-in for M365 Purview across the organization.
- Lead the deployment and adoption of new products and components within M365 Purview.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
- Act as a subject matter expert for technology teams and provide regular updates to business and legal stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in large multinational companies, preferably within the financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with M365 Purview administration, including data retention, deletion, legal holds, and compliance boundaries across various M365 data sets (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, etc.).
- Strong understanding of eDiscovery within M365 Purview, including performance considerations.
- Experience with other retention platforms, such as Enterprise Vault on-premise, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively with regulators, compliance functions, and legal teams.
