The FBI Laboratory Division is seeking a Supervisory Forensic Operations Specialist to lead a team of experts in high-hazard response programs and operations worldwide. This critical role involves coordinating and overseeing major forensic and law enforcement operations in complex and dangerous environments, including evidence recovery, confined spaces, rope operations, excavations, unstable structures, and hazardous materials.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of employees responsible for high-hazard response programs and operations.
- Coordinate and oversee major forensic and law enforcement operations in complex high-hazard environments.
- Serve as the FBI’s Safety/Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Threat Credibility Evaluations (TCEs) and other programs.
- Act as the on-site manager for complex high-hazard FBI evidence recovery operations.
- Serve as liaison with federal and local emergency responders, especially in matters of safety and high-hazard technical operations.
- Supervise the establishment of hot zone (dangerous) and warm zone (decontamination) perimeters.
- Maintain 24/7 on-call availability to respond to assignments throughout the world.
- Direct and manage one or more technical hazards programs.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Field Operating Guides (FOGs), and other policies and procedures.
- Make complex decisions regarding work operations/functions.
- Direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of program objectives.
- Determine resource requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current, permanent FBI employee within the Laboratory Division.
- Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance.
- Must be able to pass a US Government physical and HAZMAT exam.
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in high-hazard operations, safety compliance, management principles, training development, federal procurement, research and problem-solving.
Benefits:
- Salary: $139,395.00-$181,216.00
