Job Description
As a Software Developer at NGA, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that support our critical missions. You will collaborate with customers to understand their needs, develop innovative solutions, and ensure the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software applications, services, and systems
- Manage source code using version control best practices
- Research new technologies and methodologies
- Utilize code validation tools
- Collaborate with customers
- Test and integrate software applications
- Perform test-driven development
- Modify and enhance existing software
- Create technical models and prototypes
- Share information and engage with the community
- Prepare reports and consult with stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Mandatory:
- Experience using programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript
- Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with build automation tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle)
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Experience building web application programming interfaces (APIs)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Desirable:
- Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes
- Experience with frameworks like Python Flask, Java Spring, JavaScript React
- Experience with DevOps tools
- Experience with software security techniques
- Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift)
