Safeguarding Pakistan’s Democracy: Election Commission Seeks Deputy Director (Law)

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Deputy Director (Law) to join their team on a two-year contract basis. This is a crucial role for anyone passionate about upholding the democratic process and ensuring fair elections in Pakistan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice and guidance to the ECP on all matters related to election laws, constitutional law, and procedural laws.
  • Drafting legal documents, contracts, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on election-related issues.
  • Representing the ECP in court cases and legal proceedings.
  • Overseeing and managing the legal team within the ECP.
  • Staying updated on the latest developments in election law and relevant legal precedents.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of legal reforms for elections.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLM preferred) from a recognized university.
  • At least seven years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with a minimum of five years spent practicing in the High Court.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Constitution of Pakistan, Election Laws, and Procedural Laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: Up to 35 years old (relaxable in special cases).
  • Domicile: Balochistan
  • Place of Posting: Quetta (liable to serve anywhere in Pakistan)
