Republic Services, a leading environmental services company, is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Data Engineer to join its Enterprise Data team. About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and solutions that support Republic Services‘ growing data needs. You will work with cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, MarkLogic, Snowflake, and more to build scalable and efficient data systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data pipelines to ingest data from various sources, including relational databases, file shares, and web services.
- Build and maintain a data lake on AWS S3, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Perform data engineering and analytics using AWS Glue, Informatica, EMR, Spark, Athena, Python, and other tools.
- Design and implement data models and build data warehouses using Snowflake.
- Develop MarkLogic integrations with existing enterprise platforms.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Enterprise Information Solution Architecture, Design, and development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Glue, EMR).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MarkLogic.
- Strong understanding of database architecture and performance implications.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, and Java.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
