WordPress Developer (Remote)

Awesome Motive, a global leader in WordPress products, seeks a skilled and passionate WordPress Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in building new features, improving existing code, resolving bugs, and ensuring the scalability of our platform, which impacts millions of users.

About You:

You’re a self-motivated, detail-oriented developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and enjoy collaborating with other developers. You’re eager to learn, grow your skillset, and take pride in producing high-quality work. You’re comfortable handling tasks of all sizes, from minor bug fixes to large-scale feature development, and can seamlessly transition between front-end and back-end development.

Responsibilities:

• Triage and address bugs and feature requests.
• Design, develop, and test new product features and add-ons.
• Refactor existing code while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Provide code reviews and feedback to other developers.
• Communicate effectively with the team using various communication channels.

Requirements:

• Professional experience in WordPress plugin development, architecture, and best practices.
• Advanced proficiency in PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces).
• Strong JavaScript skills (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6).
• Experience with build tools (gulp, webpack).
• Familiarity with package managers (Composer, NPM).
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, Drip, Zapier).
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
• Ability to rapidly iterate and deliver results.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• A focus on simplicity in design and implementation.
• Prior experience working remotely or as a freelancer.
• Personal computer with internet access.
• Availability for audio/video meetings between 9 am and 5 pm EST.

Bonus Points:

• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (VueJS, React).
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and related APIs (Easy Digital Downloads, WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal).
• Experience with DevOps or infrastructure management.
