About the Role:

We are searching for a passionate and driven Technical Lead to guide our talented team of engineers in building and maintaining the technology that powers our educational platform. This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with a meaningful mission. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of Torah education through technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and support a team of five senior engineers. Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
  • Software Architecture & Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient software solutions across our web and mobile platforms.
  • Technical Ownership: Take full ownership of our tech stack, including Next.js, React, Node.js, Android (Kotlin), iOS (Swift), PostgreSQL, and AWS infrastructure.
  • DevOps: Manage and optimize our CI/CD pipeline using CircleCI. Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our systems.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning meetings, collaborating with product management to define the technical roadmap and align it with company goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the team’s workload, delegate tasks effectively, and provide regular status updates.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong full-stack background.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Experience with mobile app development (Android/Kotlin or iOS/Swift) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly AWS (ECS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, RDS).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
