Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

Semaphore, a leading provider of hosted continuous integration and deployment services used by over 50,000 developers, is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote team. We empower development teams to ship software faster and with greater confidence by delivering a robust and scalable platform for software delivery. Our platform supports continuous delivery for all major programming languages and offers native support for building and deploying Docker containers. We are committed to providing the easiest-to-use and fastest CI/CD service and operate in small, high-impact teams where every member plays a crucial role.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Semaphore, you will have significant ownership of technical projects that directly impact the success of our business. We are looking for a candidate with strong product sense and technical expertise, combined with the ability to move quickly and efficiently. Responsibilities:

• Develop new features for the Semaphore platform.
• Enhance internal and external APIs.
• Automate release processes, monitoring, and address scalability challenges.
• Contribute to and collaborate on open-source software projects.
• Optimize the performance and scalability of Semaphore.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production services.
• Experience developing database-backed web applications.
• Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages.
• Ability to work independently and make effective decisions.
• Commitment to writing maintainable, efficient, and clean code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn Golang and/or Elixir (our primary languages).
• Proficiency in TDD/BDD practices.
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion.
• Strong command of Linux and the command line.
