Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Remote Data Engineer (Python) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing and expanding our open-source and cloud-based data observability products. Working closely with our CTO and experienced engineering team, you will drive the implementation of key features in Soda Core and Soda Cloud, contributing to our cutting-edge data testing and observability offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and implement new features for Soda Cloud and Soda Core, addressing real-world data engineering challenges.
- Contribute to the scalability and performance of Soda Cloud, supporting large-scale data processing.
- Design, develop, and maintain data observability and testing features within our open-source library.
- Develop internal tooling to streamline product development and enhance team efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to the engineering team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in building data/ML products or cloud-based software.
- Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles and design patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Python Data Stack and SQL.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes, pipeline testing, data mesh, and related data engineering concepts.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive, independent, and comfortable proposing and defending innovative ideas.
- Ability to work remotely within European time zones.
- Strong interest in data quality, data observability, and machine learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data quality solutions or products for data engineers.
- Familiarity with common data warehousing solutions.
- Basic knowledge of the Python Data Science stack, including Scikit-learn.
- Experience with GitOps.
- STEM degree from a reputable university.
