Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing the core architecture of our TCG platform. As an early team member, you will have significant autonomy to influence our systems and infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability for a high-traffic marketplace. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize backend architecture for a high-traffic marketplace.
- Implement complex features, including real-time card scanning, inventory management, trade matching, and a secure user wallet system.
- Ensure performance and cost efficiency across all infrastructure and code.
- Develop and implement robust scaling strategies to handle millions of daily requests.
- Implement rigorous security measures, including KYC processes.
- Streamline CI/CD and DevOps pipelines for rapid iteration.
- Solve complex technical challenges across databases, cloud infrastructure, and backend technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of taking ownership of projects from conception to delivery.
- Extensive experience designing and optimizing backends for high-traffic systems.
- Deep expertise in MongoDB, relational databases, and NoSQL solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and backend architecture.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), logging, monitoring, caching, and DevOps best practices.
- Ability to write clean, optimized code that minimizes resource consumption.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on large-scale marketplaces.
- Expertise in MongoDB optimization and sharding strategies.
- Experience with frontend technologies like React, Next.js.
- Passion for Trading Card Games (TCGs) or gaming culture.
