Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer (Cloud & Microservices)

Discogs, the world’s largest music database and marketplace, is seeking a passionate Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their Engineering Foundation team. In this remote role, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern microservices and web applications using cutting-edge technologies like Python, React, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and GraphQL.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end software using Agile methodologies.
• Design, build, and optimize internal and third-party software solutions for various teams.
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead complex features from concept to design and delivery.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Implement observability best practices to ensure application health.
• Own end-to-end solutions while working seamlessly within a team.

What you bring to the table:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and maintaining cloud-based web applications.
• Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud architecture deployment and scaling, preferably AWS.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience working in production systems under load.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions preferred).
• Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
• Extensive experience building reusable components with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• A passion for music and a desire to contribute to a thriving online community.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with identity providers and APM tools.
• Familiarity with event/message streaming technologies (Kafka) and caching services (Redis/Memcached).
• Experience in an e-commerce environment and with GraphQL.
