The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network security infrastructure. This role involves identifying and mitigating security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles and technologies, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Security Design and Implementation:
    • Design and implement secure network architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and other security devices.
    • Configure and manage network security devices and software.
    • Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures.
  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
    • Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity.
    • Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, intrusions, and data breaches.
    • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
    • Conduct security audits and compliance checks.
  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Identify and assess network vulnerabilities.
    • Develop and implement remediation plans.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Security Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
    • Develop and maintain security documentation and reports.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with IT and other teams to implement security measures.
    • Provide security training and awareness to employees.
    • Communicate security risks and recommendations to management.
  • Firewall and VPN management:
    • configure and maintain firewalls of various vendors.
    • Configure and maintain VPN solutions for remote access.
  • Intrusion detection/prevention:
    • Configure and maintain IDS/IPS solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network security.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and other security devices.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
  • Knowledge of security compliance standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.

  • Firewall Management (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet)
  • IDS/IPS (e.g., Snort, Suricata)
  • VPN (e.g., OpenVPN, IPsec)
  • Vulnerability Scanning (e.g., Nessus, OpenVAS)
  • Penetration Testing (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap)
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Network Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Cloud security knowledge is a strong plus.
