ESPN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Production Operation Specialist to join their team. This is a remote position, so candidates from across the United States are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, plan, and execute the technical management of remote sports productions
- Provide technical expertise to production and operations teams
- Conduct technical surveys for upcoming events
- Determine feasibility of production requirements, crew size, equipment needs, and costs
- Design technical CAD drawings for remote broadcasts
- Supervise installation, operation, and teardown of technical equipment
- Advise production and operations personnel on technical costs and options
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technical innovations
- Assist in vendor selection and contract negotiations
- Maintain communication with other sports category managers
- Work with organizing bodies on technical design and implementation
- Keep accurate records and approve crew time and travel time
- Act as safety supervisor in accordance with OSHA regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of broadcast experience, primarily as a field technician
- In-depth knowledge of equipment technology, procurement, financial and logistical skills
- Knowledge of electronics in broadcasting, including HD, UHD(4K), HDR, SDR formats, video acquisition, media recording, transmission methods, signal routing, audio, IP systems
- Proficient with WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, and VISIO
- Ability to communicate clearly, manage people effectively, and troubleshoot problems
- Leadership ability and willingness to travel
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical school specializing in electronics or radio/TV preferred
Compensation:
- $130,544 to $201,410 per year (depending on experience and location)
- Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be offered
