ESPN Seeks Remote Production Operation Specialist

ESPN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Production Operation Specialist to join their team. This is a remote position, so candidates from across the United States are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, plan, and execute the technical management of remote sports productions
  • Provide technical expertise to production and operations teams
  • Conduct technical surveys for upcoming events
  • Determine feasibility of production requirements, crew size, equipment needs, and costs
  • Design technical CAD drawings for remote broadcasts
  • Supervise installation, operation, and teardown of technical equipment
  • Advise production and operations personnel on technical costs and options
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technical innovations
  • Assist in vendor selection and contract negotiations
  • Maintain communication with other sports category managers
  • Work with organizing bodies on technical design and implementation
  • Keep accurate records and approve crew time and travel time
  • Act as safety supervisor in accordance with OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of broadcast experience, primarily as a field technician
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment technology, procurement, financial and logistical skills
  • Knowledge of electronics in broadcasting, including HD, UHD(4K), HDR, SDR formats, video acquisition, media recording, transmission methods, signal routing, audio, IP systems
  • Proficient with WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, and VISIO
  • Ability to communicate clearly, manage people effectively, and troubleshoot problems
  • Leadership ability and willingness to travel

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or technical school specializing in electronics or radio/TV preferred

Compensation:

  • $130,544 to $201,410 per year (depending on experience and location)
  • Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be offered
