Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS) is looking for a talented and passionate Software Engineer Contractor to join their team. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer Contractor, you will play a key role in designing and developing software solutions that support TRSS’s mission to deliver global data using cutting-edge technologies. You will work with tools like MongoDB, Elastic, and Kafka, and contribute to the full stack of the TRSS solutions suite. This role requires a skilled engineer who is comfortable with both backend and frontend development.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement software solutions
Collaborate with the TRSS analytical staff to gather requirements
Contribute to and maintain existing applications
Mentor less experienced developers
Demo new software solutions
Work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:

B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or relevant experience)
3+ years of professional software development experience
Strong engineering and problem-solving skills
Experience with Python, Java, SpringBoot, MongoDB, and MySQL
Experience with Docker, Jenkins, Git, and Maven
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance
U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Skills:

Frontend development experience (React, Angular, or Vue)
AWS experience
Neo4J or other graph technology
Kafka
Grails, Groovy
Elasticsearch
