The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisory Accountant to join their team in Washington, DC. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary range of $178,896.00 – $205,799.00 per year.
About the Position
The Supervisory Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the Accounts Payable Division (APD). The incumbent will be responsible for conducting audits, ensuring compliance with federal accounting standards, and providing financial guidance to senior management and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee audits related to accounts payable and travel programs.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex accounting and financial matters.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable and travel transactions.
- Develop and implement improvements to internal controls within the APD.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-12/GS-14 level in accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of federal accounting standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
