DistroKid, the world’s leading music distribution service empowering millions of artists worldwide, is seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our fully remote team. About the Role:
As a Software Engineering Manager at DistroKid, you will lead a team of talented engineers in the development and maintenance of our large-scale products and services. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the future of music creation and distribution, working on projects like our video distribution platform, instant mastering tools, and a suite of artist-focused features. You will foster a culture of autonomy, ownership, and accountability within your team, driving them to achieve ambitious goals.
Responsibilities:
- Set and communicate team priorities aligned with DistroKid’s overall strategic objectives.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to direct reports, fostering their professional growth.
- Develop and champion the long-term technical vision and roadmap for your team, anticipating future needs.
- Oversee system design, review code, and ensure adherence to best practices, solving complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to define product goals, priorities, and timelines.
- Partner with product and program management teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
- 3+ years of experience designing and architecting scalable systems.
- Strong software development skills in JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, CSS, HTML, and experience with languages like Java, PHP, or Python.
- Solid understanding of cloud environments and toolchains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for technology and a desire to work in a diverse and inclusive team.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of event-driven service development and full-stack software development.

Salary Range: €120,000 – €160,000 EUR / £100,000 – £135,000 GBP annually
