The Cybersecurity Analyst will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization’s information systems and data. This remote position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response. The analyst will monitor security systems, analyze potential threats, and implement security measures to protect against cyberattacks.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools for anomalies and potential threats.
    • Analyze security logs and alerts to identify suspicious activity and potential security incidents.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
  • Incident Response:
    • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
    • Document security incidents and provide detailed reports on findings and remediation efforts.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of incident response plans.
  • Threat Intelligence:
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
    • Research and analyze threat intelligence feeds to identify potential risks to the organization.
    • Provide recommendations for mitigating identified threats.
  • Security Compliance:
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
    • Participate in security audits and assessments.
    • Help to develop and maintain security policies and procedures.
  • Security Tool Management:
    • Help to manage and maintain security tools and technologies.
    • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new security solutions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to address security concerns.
    • Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Provide security awareness training to employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and best practices.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning tools, and other security technologies.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security architectures.
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Must reside within the United States.
