Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) is seeking a qualified Auditor to join their Office of Inspector General (OIG). This crucial role offers a salary range of $110,790 to $157,049 per year. The OIG provides independent oversight of the USCP, conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and inquiries into all USCP entities.
Responsibilities:
The Auditor will independently plan and conduct audits of USCP financial records, systems, and operational activities. This includes:
- Analyzing and reviewing financial and operational data.
- Identifying areas of risk and non-compliance.
- Developing and executing audit plans.
- Preparing comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations.
- Resolving audit issues, often requiring interpretation of regulations.
- Ensuring audit findings are well-supported and meet professional standards.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the federal government’s requirements for professional accounting positions, including a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or a related field with sufficient accounting coursework) and relevant experience. Specialized experience in accounting, auditing, financial, or compliance work, specifically in planning, conducting, and reporting on audits, is essential.
Desired Skills:
Experience with financial statement, IT, or performance audits is highly desired, as are professional certifications like CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA, CFE, or CGFM.
