Paperpile, a leading research management platform, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Engineer to play a key role in the development of our next-generation iOS and Android apps. This remote position offers the opportunity to create an exceptional mobile experience for researchers, enabling them to efficiently collect, read, and annotate scientific articles on their mobile devices.
About the Role:
While our mobile apps are built with React Native, we’re looking for a native mobile expert to develop and integrate native modules for advanced functionalities, including background file downloads, inter-app communication, and data sharing. A core responsibility will be integrating, adapting, and extending our native PSPDFKit-based PDF viewer on both Android and iOS platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain native modules for iOS and Android, enhancing the capabilities of our React Native applications.
- Integrate, adapt, and extend our native PSPDFKit-based PDF viewer on both platforms.
- Manage the full mobile app lifecycle, including continuous integration, app store submissions, certificate management, and SDK updates.
- Write clean, reusable, and testable code.
- Collaborate effectively within an agile team, delivering high-quality, production-ready code efficiently and on schedule.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with native iOS development using Swift/Objective-C.
- Extensive experience with native Android development using Java/Kotlin.
- Proven ability to manage the complete mobile app lifecycle (CI/CD, app store submissions, certificates, SDK updates).
- Experience with React Native apps (or a strong interest in learning) and the ability to write and integrate native modules and libraries.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within an agile team environment.
