Gusto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our Fintech team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a product suite that empowers small businesses to manage their finances with ease and confidence. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining systems that handle critical financial transactions, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering principles, experience with cloud technologies, and a passion for building high-quality products that have a direct impact on customers’ financial well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain features for Gusto’s Fintech products, focusing on areas like fraud prevention, global payments, and financial risk mitigation.
- Design and implement highly scalable and secure systems to process billions of dollars in transactions.
- Integrate with third-party APIs to enhance payment functionalities and expand payment methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data, finance, compliance) to ensure accurate financial reconciliation and reporting.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with dynamic languages like Ruby on Rails, Java, Python, or PHP.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and related tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
- Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data structures.
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver high-quality code with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A strong commitment to building secure and reliable financial systems.
- Must be located in Turkey and have strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Willingness to adjust work schedule for some overlap with US-based teams.
