We’re searching for a talented and passionate Founding Backend Engineer to join our team and help build the backbone of our AI-powered growth platform. You’ll be responsible for developing scalable backend systems, APIs, and frameworks that drive our core workflows and ensure seamless integration with various AI technologies.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and build robust backend systems and APIs using TypeScript, potentially Ruby on Rails or Python, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Develop and maintain the internal runtime environment and frameworks that power our AI workflows (currently leveraging Temporal.io).
- Optimize system performance to handle high volumes of data and complex AI processes.
- Integrate our platform with a range of services and APIs, including Weaviate (for RAG), leading LLM providers, web scraping tools, and external APIs.
- Contribute to DevOps by deploying, monitoring, and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with product engineers and our services team to deliver exceptional solutions.
- Embrace a pragmatic problem-solving approach to deliver impactful results efficiently.
- Actively participate in the creation and maintenance of AI workflows to enhance our platform’s capabilities.
Who You Are:
- Experienced backend developer with a strong foundation in building and scaling backend systems using modern technologies like TypeScript and relational databases.
- Proficient in API design and development, ensuring seamless communication between different components and services.
- Familiar with DevOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production systems.
- Performance-oriented with a deep understanding of optimization techniques for databases and backend services.
- A pragmatic problem solver who can navigate complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- A strong collaborator who thrives in a remote team environment.
- Excellent communicator who can clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Bonus: Experience with LLMs, RAG, and other AI technologies.
