We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including financial reporting, tax compliance, and general ledger maintenance. As a remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing significantly to the organization’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or other applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure its accuracy.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and analyze account balances.
- Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns and other tax filings.
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations in Saudi Arabia.
- Advise on tax implications of business transactions.
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for management.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted results.
Internal Controls
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Review and improve existing internal control procedures.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support.
- Ad-hoc projects as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or other applicable accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in remote work environments is preferred.
