About the Role
As a Senior SIM & eSIM Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing SIM and eSIM technologies across their full lifecycle. You will work closely with technical teams and vendors to ensure seamless communication between devices, networks, and platforms.
This role combines technical expertise, operational ownership, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-evolving telecom environment.
Key Responsibilities
SIM & eSIM Lifecycle Management
- Manage SIM and eSIM profile configuration in line with GSMA and 3GPP standards
- Oversee the full lifecycle of SIM operations from planning to deployment and maintenance
Technical Operations & Optimization
- Ensure smooth interaction between SIMs, devices, and network systems
- Handle SIM customization, updates, and reprogramming as required
- Perform troubleshooting using tools such as network tracing and diagnostics
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for SIM and OTA vendors
- Standardize SIM-related processes across multiple partners
- Collaborate with internal teams on SIM/OTA-related development projects
Process Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation for processes and systems
- Support consistency and transparency across SIM operations
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in telecom and IoT systems
Requirements / Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Around 5 years of experience in telecom, engineering, or roaming environments
- Strong expertise in SIM card technologies, provisioning, and troubleshooting
- Experience with eSIM remote provisioning (GSMA SGP standards)
- Familiarity with multi-IMSI configurations and telecom network processes
- Knowledge of OTA systems and SIM lifecycle management
- Ability to work with vendors and cross-functional teams effectively
- Strong problem-solving mindset and proactive work approach
